Milton Brown Do Coutto Filho, since 1994, has been a Full Professor at the Institute of Computing, Fluminense Federal University (UFF).He holds a B. Sc. at the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio, 1975), an M. Sc. (1978), and a D. Sc. (1983) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil, all in electrical engineering. His employment experience includes being an Associate Professor at PUC-Rio (Electrical Engineering Dept., 1977-1994) and a Visiting Scholar at the Northeastern University, Electrical & Computer Engineering Dept., (1992-1993), Boston, MA, USA.
His research interests are computer applications in power systems. Prof. Milton Brown is the author of more than two hundred scientific papers published in journals and proceedings of national and international conferences throughout his 46-year career as a university professor. Prof. Milton Brown developed—together with his doctoral and master's power system students—a State Estimation Educational (SEE) Tool designed to address the basic SE concepts.
